The twelve groups combine the following data:
  • the "weight" of the functions in the particular phase,
  • the "weight" of the function related to that phase,
  • the "weight" of the functions in the particular colouring,
  • the "weight" of the function related to that colouring.

The "weight" is the number of aspects (maximum margin of 6 degrees of arc) with other functions, increased with one point for an association with the Sun, the Moon or the Ascendant.
